A newly constructed, 18,000 square foot grocery store sits on the southeast corner of the Jackson Medical Mall parking lot. Save-A-Lot Supermarket is a noteworthy cure for the food desert problem within the District because it gives access to fresh food items to the community. The grocery store is located behind Trustmark Bank on Bailey Avenue, and will be the only one within a three-mile radius.
