Jackson Medical Mall Foundation is offering several artistic skill-building youth camps over the summer. Take a moment to browse our camp listing and register your child for one of our free camps.

Perfecting Performance Vocal Camp:  June 04-08, 2018

Ages:  11-15

Description: This program will introduce students to the biology of vocals, the preservation of vocals via diet and exercise, enhancement of performance via microphone techniques, staging and vocal dynamics, fundamentals of the recording board as it relates to vocals and studio basic booth recording. Perfecting Performance Vocal Camp is FREE to all Jackson Public School District students, and $75.00 for students outside of the district.  


Steel Band Camp: June 11-22, 2018

Ages:  12-18

Description: Students will learn to play various types of music in the community steel band program.  No experience necessary.  Limited slots are available.


Electronic Art Camp:  June 11-15, 2018

Grades 6th – 12th

Description: Students grades 6th – 12th will participate in hands-on projects using electronic components to create 3D pictures and objects. The artistic creation will be based on a theme selected by the student. Students will learn the fundamentals of creating art and the basic electronic components and their function.

Students will also learn about LED lights and why they are so useful in our society. Students will create an artistic picture and use LED lights to enhance the picture as if it had some life.  LED’s will be mounted on the back of the art and will be powered by a battery.

All electronic art will be demonstrated to parents on Friday, June 15th, at noon.


Kreative Camp:  June 11-29, 2017

Ages: 10-18

Description: Preferred Music Productions introduces “The Kreative Camp (TKC),” a creative musical camp for young individuals to go beyond the sound of music by gaining the knowledge, insight, and skill sets to create, edit, produce, master and design musical projects. Each week different genres of music will be explored as students learn to produce a live recording, make a beat, write a song and much more. They will get the chance to choose their passions and, in the end, the talent of every single student will be on display during the grand finale as students showcase their skill-sets.


Quilting Camp:  June 18-22, 2018

Ages:  10-16

Description: The Jackson Medical Mall Foundation is offering a quilting camp for youth ages 10-16 at the Jackson Medical Mall Campus. Students will learn the basics of measuring, cutting, piecing, and quilting. They will create a hand-tied rail fence quilt. The camp will consist of two components: short teaching lectures followed by a five-day hands-on camp. Space is limited to first come, first served.


Golf Camp:  July 09-13, 2018

Young ladies ages 14-18

Description: This is an opportunity for a novice player to develop and enhance golf skills by learning proper golf course etiquette, proper attire, and golf terminology all while having fun, discussing social issues and developing friendships with fellow junior golfers. We encourage all school-aged children to participate. There are college scholarship opportunities for minorities that play golf and for those that want to pursue a career in golf.


WordCamp -Theatre & Spoken Word:  July 23-27, 2018

Ages 10-18

This year’s WordCamp features a week of learning basic theater fundamentals PLUS writing unique stage productions! Campers will:

  • Learn about stage directions, blocking, script reading, and other theatre elements
  • Learn about different theatre techniques such as improvisation, tableau, monologue and more
  • Engage in fun theatre games
  • Build concepts and learn to write their own theatre works
